Joanne's - Colorado Springs
Corn Dollies outside Joanne's @ Colorado Springs. This is when an iPad comes in really useful when your wife and daughter enter their favourite wool shop.

Garden of the Gods - Colorado Springs
Red rock slabs 300 ft high - awesome. Quick sketch on my iPad followed by a slightly slower one with pen and watercolour. I'd been looking forward to doing this one since our daughter moved to the Springs 2 years ago.

Breckenridge, Colorado
9500 feet above sea-level - it got really cold when the sun set - but it was really good to be able to eat outside in the middle of September.

Manitou Springs, Colorado
The owner of the building (Barker House) chatted to me as I was sketching outside a coffee shop. It's such a good way of meeting local people who can tell you about the history of the town. Not sure if he wants me to publicise what a gem Manitou is - so keep it quiet!

Denver Starbucks
Returning to my Colorado trip. Denver Starbucks at the biggest REI store in the world (in my experience). Thanks Starbucks for providing us with coffee, awesome pumpkin muffins (with creamcheese) and WI-FI.

Kansas Moonrise?
Kansas or it might have been Nebraska. Amazing colours on the left. The small line of clouds grow larger, lightening in the distance but we are soon safely in Denver with our younger daughter Anna and her husband Chris.......... relief!! Air travel is such a miracle.
iPad sketch - first time using spray gun pen device - I think it gave a realistic effect.

Philadelphia airport
Philly - safe landing after half an hour delay waiting for President Obama to clear the Airport. Out came my sketchpad, pen, watercolours and rather blotchy paper. It was good to be on solid ground again!

Atlantic fever
When you're half way across the Atlantic in a cramped seat it's marvellous what inspires you to sketch!
Over the Atlantic Ocean sketching
Somewhere over the Atlantic I paused the film on the TV console in front of me and sketched this on my iPad. It reminded me of our favourite place in Mallorca.
